Veteran Journalist, Ehindero for burial, June 29

The remains of late Elder Simeon Otitonaye Ehindero who died on April 1st, 2019 during a brief illness will be committed to Mother Earth on June 29, 2019.

Announcing the burial arrangements in a statement made available to News Hub Mag, the family of the deceased said a Wake will be held on June 27th, 2019 at the Lokoja residence of the deceased before proceeding to his home town of Ayetoro-Gbedde in Ijumu LGA of Kogi State.

According to the statement, laying in state and internment will hold on the 28 and 29 June respectively at Ayetoro-Gbedde. 

Born on November 28, 1939, the deceased was a passionate journalist and writer. He started his journalism career with Observer, Tribune, and Vanguard, before he finally joined The Herald Newspaper as a reporter.

He rose to become the News Editor of the paper before the creation of Kogi state when he transfered his service to start The Graphics Newspaper. He was later redeployed to Kogi State Ministry of Information as a Deputy Director before his eventual retirement. 

On his retirement Elder Simeon Ehindero took up community and religious service. 

Meanwhile his children have established a Foundation to take care of aged in Ayetoro-Gbedde, his home town and Okun Land in General. Christened SIMONGOLD FOUNDATION. In memory of the deceased, the foundation is an expression of Elder Ehindero’s wish for the care of people in their old age. 

He is survived by a loving wife, children and other family members.

He was an alumnus of Bayero University Kano and an old student of the prestigious Government College Keffi.
