KWSG shuts down 99 illegal, substandard private schools

In furtherance of its bid to ensure that stakeholders adhere to official standards in schools across the state, the Kwara State Government, through the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has again closed down 99 private schools in parts of the state.

This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mr. Yakub Kamaledeen Aliagan and made available to News Hub Mag!

Quoting the Permanent Secretary, Hajia Mariam Ayodeji Garba, the statement said, “some proprietors of the affected schools were operating illegally while some others violated the laid down rules and regulations of the state government in respect to the establishment of schools in the state.”

The statement further charged schools in the state, especially private schools, “to adhere strictly to all the rules and regulations of the state government as the present administration in the state is committed to the provision of sound and quality education and will not relent in its efforts to ensure the enforcement of global standards in the running of academic activities of the schools in the state.”
