Blessing Aisha Ekele, a  Governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the last party primary election in Kogi state has said the emergence of governor Yahaya Bello and his deputy, Chief Edward Onoja as the winner of the just concluded Governorship election in the state is divine, and beyond mortals.

The APC woman leader  who worked assiduously to deliver her Igah Ward of Olamaboro local government area of the state to her party in the election, congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello and his deputy, Chief Edward Onoja,  saying their  victory at the polls is well deserved.

While addressing journalists at a press conference in Lokoja, on Thursday, shortly after the Independent National  Electoral Commission (INEC) gave the governor and his deputy their certificates of return as winner of the November 16 governorship election  in the state, the APC stalwart commended the doggedness of the governor-elect and his deputy which made the party to shine at the polls.

“I must be sincere with you, Governor Bello and his deputy deserve that victory. They prayed, worked for it , fixed all the weak links before the election. And God answered their prayers by giving them victory at the polls. In fact, it’s a victory well deserved”, she stated.

The Magajia 1 of Uke in Yakanajie Kingdom in Nassarawa state stated that Providence has destined the governor and his deputy to be in charge of affairs of the state at this period and urged the people of the state to embrace the divine journey for a better Kogi.

Ekele further disclosed that for a society to be said to be growing, there is need for the emergence of new leadership and new innovation in act of governance and not the recycling of  same old people and ideal. She also stressed that with the coming on the state political space of  Governor Bello, new things and ideas have appeared on the scene, which in due course, the dividends will be felt by all.

“This is not the period to trade words or apportion blames. But  a time to join hands with the Governor-elect and his deputy to ensure Kogi join the committee of great states. For we have been endowed with human, natural and material resources that can make this state great, if harnessed.

“We should therefore see the second coming of Governor  Bello as  a blessing, since  our endowed resources and all initiated or uncompleted  projects will be completed to the betterment of the people”, she said.

The APC stalwart commended her supporters, especially  the people of Olamaboro local government for standing by her and their own son , Chief Edward Onoja ,the deputy governor (elect) by voting en-masse for the party during the just concluded Governorship election, stressing, “this feat wouldn’t have been achieved without the cooperation of you all at the home front”.

She added that the region will not regret supporting APC, saying,  for the first time in the political history of the state, the region has joined the main stream of politics  in the confluence area, by the  coming on board  of Chief Edward Onoja, and whose chemistry of political  idea works with Governor Bello adequately .
