Kogi vows to wage war against infant mortality

Kogi State Government has expressed it’s determination to wage war against infant mortality in the state.

The Executive Secretary, Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Abubakar Yakubu who disclosed this while speaking at a one day seminar for Civil Society and Journalists on immunisation of children against Measles in the state.

Yakubu explained that immunisation of children between the ages of 9 and 18months in Kogi State became necessary given the desire to reduce infant mortality rate.

He urged mothers to avail themselves of this opportunity to immunize their children against measles.

Also speaking at the Seminar the State Health Educator ,Yusuf Ocheku explained that the immunization of children from ages of 9 to 18months will commence from 14th -29th December, 2019.

News Hub Mag! reports that the immunization will take place in 14 local government Area of Kogi State.
